kz10001944 Gruen Pan American. Issued to flight crews. Pan Am flew for the military exclusively during WWII. These weren't sold to the public until after the war. Its on an NOS Guss military strap.

The fire blued hands remind me of my old Pre-War Colt 1911A1. Enjoy!
Absolutely beautiful watch.

jhe888Pilot watch guys:
Which of the several more-or-less reproductions of the German fliegers do you like best.
Laco seems to be the most reminiscent of the originals. I lean in that direction.
Stowa?
IWC is out - I don't want to spend that much, and they are more adaptations anyway.
I like the A dials. I like them a little bigger, as that is more like the originals. (The originals were 55mm.) I think I could easily wear a 42mm on my gorilla arm. the 45mm ones seem big, but I haven't seen one in the flesh.

r0gueI'm a B-Uhr dial guy myself. Glashutte Original's Navigator has always called to me, but at 44mm, "I cannot do it cap'n". Been a while since I gave em a good hard look, but I think it was Stowa that had a 400 (or 42) mm B-Uhr.
Edit: Yep!

Ohhhhhhh!!!!!.... 39mm handwinding!

Laco makes a 42 and 45mm in handwinding with the A dial, too. Those are the two that appeal most to me. I'd like to see them in person to judge size. I am sure 42 would be fine, but I would like to see the 45. The 45mm is considerably more expensive.
Laco also makes a 55mm, if you really want original.

r0gueI'm with you. I'd love an opportunity to see them all. I'd almost certainly buy one.

JimineerI’m not sure if there are any brick and mortars that sell Laco but below is a link to an online source with a good selection.
The owner has several YouTube vids covering an assortment of Laco’s. Might be the next best alternative to seeing them in person.

I threw this together over the last couple of days. Had a spare ETA 2824-2 sitting around. Decided to put it to work. Nothing special, but a good beater.

Love the Tudor hour hand. If you think about letting this one go I'd be interested.
