Hi guys
Wanted to show this piece of history. It has served in LE and as you can see it has been to hell and back.
Has served me well, painted the worst part when it retired and now I'm looking forward to get it cerakoted.

It still is the pistol I prefer to shoot.

I wouldn't either. It's honest wear from duty. I think it looks great.

Sweet P226 either way.

If you do get it refinished, let us know how it turns out.

The P226 was my first handgun and I've owned several over the years, in all their various flavors.

What I find interesting about yours is that it appears to have the older (earlier) Trijicon sights, but installed on a later model gun with a stainless steel slide. Unless I'm mistaken, those sights were discontinued for the Meprolights, by the time the stainless steel slides came along. But, being a former LE gun, the explanation could be as simple as an armorer's parts box.

Whatever the explanation, you can't go wrong with a P226.

Love the old school p226. I would leave it as is but I like the of a well worn pistol.

I would buy another P226, perhaps a Legion version, and have the finish you wanted applied by CCR. Yours is far too real to refinish.

Its great looking just the way it is. LE is tough work these days especially in the USA. We all hope you're in better shape than your 226.
