First, a lot of reloaders think that they MUST load to the maximum powder charge listed. IMO this is not a good idea because if you are using a volume based powder measure there will be some drift in each charge thrown. For example Unique has a Standard Deviation of 0.17 grains. In the 6 Sigma quality standard this means the range of the variation in thrown charges will be +/- 0.51 grains. So load at max and you will throw some charges that are 1/2 grain over the maximum. In a pistol that is a bit lacking in case head support that 1/2 grain overcharge may become significant, especially if you have a case that seen a lot of reloads.

Tips.

First, Don't load at maximum. I like to load at a point that is 60% between the minimum and maximum. Yeah, it will reduce velocity a bit, SO WHAT, you are shooting at paper or steel and you don't need much velocity for that.

Second, purchase Starline Brass, it is made to withstand +P level loads so it's good and strong and you will have the ability to know just how many times it's been used.

I've stopped counting.
