I bought a box of 5000 Wolf small pistol primers because the normal US brands weren't available, the price was written on the box in marker: $95. I'm seeing current primer prices of about $80 per 1000 online, plus hazardous shipping charges. Don't know what primers cost at brick and mortar stores these days.

The local gun stores that carry primers in my area are charging anywhere between $75.00 per thousand up to $125.00 per thousand (the highest priced primers right now in my area are Large Rifle and Large Rifle Magnum Primers).

Yes in Northern Indiana we are seeing similar prices locally
Winchester SP for $74.59 per 1000 and it goes up from there

On line
We have seen White River for $60 per $1000 and CCI for $72.50 per thousand + hazmat + freight

I believe I still have some of those Wolf primers around also, I never really liked them as they did not always go bang
But at the time there was not much else available

10 years, or like yesterday! I still have some my dad bought back in the 60s (1960s). Its nice to compare current prices with those... Smile Those of us who've been doing this for a while (like 50 or 60 years have a bunch of junk from when many of those reading here were babies or not even born yet.

OK, my dad has been dead for while now, and my brother had no interest in his stuff. Yes, its down in my basemen colleting dust. Smile

I still have several 100 boxes of CCI small magnum pistol primers (with the diamonds logo) I bought at Michael’s Trading Post in Powder Springs GA (my favorite local mom and pop) back in 1973-74 when I just started buying my own reloading components that were marked $1.11 each or if you bought a “brick” of 1000 they could be had for $10.00…I also have several bricks of 1000 Winchester LPP that were stickered $17.99 and if I bought 5000 primers at Benton Shooter’s Supply (after I moved to Tennessee in 1986) they would discount the cost of Tennessee’s sales tax (over 9%…remember that Georgia’s sales tax was 3%…not sure what it is today.)…we Cowboy Action Shooter would take advantage of this and buy years worth of primers…but those “salad days” are long past Frown Frown Frown…as an aside …the CCI small pistol primers were found in a plastic tub that had been in my unheated/cooled attic marked “Christmas shit” since we moved here in 1986 and they all performed perfectly…would I trust them with my life?…NO!…but it made me feel better about my properly stored reloading components and ammunition…I think it will outlive us)…nowadays I keep a link open to American Reloading for somewhat cheaper reloading shit…you got to learn to “roll with the punches” and stay afloat Wink Wink Wink

I'm sitting on a bunch of CCI 34 and 41 that cost under $20/1000. Considering getting rid of a bunch since I'm getting old and considering a cross country move. Considering, this is not a for sale announcement, nor are they for sale. I have a ton of stuff to sort and decide.

I have a bunch of CCI from about 1998 that are marked $12.95 per 1000. TBF, that’s like $40 equivalent 2024 Biden bucks.

Makes you sick nowadays seeing current pricing
