I've been fighting casting and powder coating subsonic 300 blk bullets for the last year. I finally got the perfect load for suppressed bolt action and 10.5" AR-15.

I had been using some primed brass I bought online. I finally got set up to chop and resize LC 5.56 brass. But I'm having issues with the shoulder being too high. It's visually higher than the formed brass I bought. I'm guessing about .100 too tall. It will chamber but it's a pain to eject the test round.

What am I doing wrong? I'm using a Hornady LNL with a Redding FL sizing die. The die is touching the shell holder. OAL of the brass is perfect. It's just the shoulder giving me issues.

ETA: This is the first rifle round that I've tried to reload. I've always reloaded straight wall pistol.

Walker - You are not doing anything wrong as I was faced with the same exact situation when I started making 300 B/O brass from LC brass. Recommended to me by another experienced 300 B/O reloader on another forum was to adjust my resizing die (I use the Redding FL die just like you) to allow the machine to “cam over ever so slightly”. I did this and now every round of brass and loaded round passes the Wilson and Dillon case gauges I use and more importantly the rounds are not hard to get into or out of my Ruger American bolt rifle. Hope this helps - it did for me….Mark

I'll try that, thanks for the help.

I may try sizing it in my single stage lyman as well.

Looks like that worked. I won't know for sure until I run some rounds through the guns.

Thanks for your help!

I also had this problem so I took my casehead holder into work and used a surface grinder to take it down by 0.010 inch, problem solved and no need to "cam over" the press. I kind of have a love affair going with H110, use it for 357 Magnum, 300 Blackout, and 410 shot shells. Three of my most favorite "calibers" to shoot. Probably should pickup another 8 pounder when it comes in stock at my club.

I've stopped counting.
