SampsNo Sale
This is not advertising. I'm seeking advice, only. I stopped reloading (.38/.357, .44/.44mag) some years ago. I still have thousands of new primers, some bullets and unprimed cases in the house. I looked for buyers at a recent show, then listed on a gun classified online site. I was asking less than 50% of store prices but got no response, whatsoever. Obviously, primers require special labeling and the weight of lead bullets makes shipping costs prohibitive. Is there a market for these components any more? How/where would one list them?

MikeinNCLook up a IDPA, Steel challenge or USPAS match at your closest club and see if you can sell it to them or someone at the shoot I quit shooting USPSA during Covid because components were either unavailable or so high no one would buy them.

SampsI'll look into that. I don't shoot competitively and don't belong to a club. Still, it's worth a try. Thanks.

m1009Take them to a gun show, with a sign you’re selling, I bet other people walking the show would snap them up. Primer are still fairly high I noticed last show by us, so if you were lower priced, could be an easy sale. Good luck.

SampsI took a good share to a large show (Grand Rapids), early in October. I spoke to a few guys selling reloading gear, hoping for an offer. It didn't look like they were getting much traffic, themselves. They weren't interested in buying mine. Unfortunately, Craig's List, Facebook, etc., ban ammunition and firearm ads. It makes it mighty tough to move this stuff, even when highly discounted.

McGregorSamps if its not to much trouble I would try that show again. That show in September was a very slow show, still a summer show.
A friend and I had a table there sorry we missed you may have been able to work something out. Usually someone there wanting to buy what your selling. Personally didn't do much better then cover my table cost. Keep trying.
m1009"s suggestion is a good one. Lots of person to person sales at the shows.

sourdough44The primers would have to be ‘local pickup’. The market isn’t as tight as it was, but should still be fairly good.
It’s kinda a hassle going to a gun show just for the reason of trying to sell.
I’d just try an ad here, in the classifieds, see what you end up with.

SampsI might try the G.R. show again, this weekend. McGregor, you are right. The show I attended was in September. The classified listings on this site are usually placed by dealers having authority to ship ammunition/explosives. I can't get involved with that. Years ago, reloading items were listed in my local daily newspaper. Lots of gear was advertised and sold that way. Our local newspaper has almost no circulation, any more.

SampsIs Mason well attended? I've never been to a show there. Grand Rapids is about a 150 mile round-trip for me. I didn't have any luck there, last month. Also, Kalamazoo (near me) has a December show. I'm leaning toward Mason or Kazoo, unless Grand Rapids is known to be a bigger attraction. What do you think?

shovelheadTimes I’ve been there it seems well attended, not as crowded as Novi though. I’m about equal distance between either venue.

McGregorIf I were to rank them on attendance best to worst it would be Mason, GR then Kazoo. Haven't been to Novi in quite awhile but always thought it was a great show.

Ronin101What kind of primers ie brand and size? age? if they are CCI I cant imagine why they wouldnt have sold.
I need to make an itemized list of all my reloading equipment and componenets and come up with a dollar amount. I thought I would enjoy reloading but I really dont

SampsI quit reloading after moving, about 20 years ago. I never set up operations in the new house. The primers (8,000+) are CCI, large and small pistol. I only loaded .38/.357, .44/.44 mag in the day. Everything's in the factory packaging, Speer bullets and unprimed cases. I don't know how many folks reload for revolver any more? I'd hoped to move the whole inventory as a lot. I'll probably try the Mason, MI show, in November.

shovelheadI’m considering reloading for my revolvers. If I do I’ll probably start with a Lee Handloader and go from there.

RCI have gotten a lot of good response by posting for sale items on the bulletin board at my local club. (Bend of the River Niles Mi.)
I don’t know where you are at but, if you wanted me to post your list on the board my email is in my profile.

ensigmatic Samps, you might try joining the
Michigan Gun Owners Community Forum and listing your reloading stuff in their Marketplace. They even have a separate "Reloading Supplies and Tools For Sale" section.
(I can't tell you anything about the character of that site, the org., or the membership of either, as I'm not currently a member of either.)
