Needed ammo for my .308 tomorrow, so loaded the following...

169 Gr. SMK (OAL 2.87") for a bolt gun not a M-14
42.2 gr./IMR-4064
IMI Match case (prep'd)
Federal 210 Match primer

Will take my chronograph so we can get an idea of how fast these things are going down range...

Anxious to see and hear the results. Gonna guess and say muzzle velocity at your crony will be between 2550 FPS - 2650 FPS….

Trip to the range went well. Here's just one of several groups I shot with the load. Chrono did not work, so will have to report velocities at a later date.



For now it looks like the 169 gr. SMK is showing a lot of promise. Next testing will be at 600 yds...

What was the range on that group?

If you come across some RL15.5 give that a try.

I always had really good luck with I4895 I4064 with Win LR.
