flesheatingvirusFire at Powder Valley
Anyone else get this email? Apparently, their entire main warehouse is a total loss.
That really sucks.

sourdough44Very much a bummer. Hopefully they get things cleaned up & back on track, kinda painful.
My first time hearing about it.

Jim WatsonGood that nobody was inside to get burnt up.
I don't know how big a market share Powder Valley has - had - but they seemed a big player. But are they big enough to reduce overall availability of reloading powder?

sourdough44Here’s a somewhat recent update after the fire. They are pressing forward with rebuilding.
They are known for powder and reloading supplies but have a fair amount of other things available.

flesheatingvirusGood news!
I'm very curious about the undetermined cause. I wonder if they had any really old propellant stored in that warehouse. If the stabilizer content becomes too depleted in such materials, bad things can happen. There's also a chance of a bad batch where something went very wrong during formulation. Still, both of those chances seem low. I'm wondering if there wasn't more of a practical cause such as an electrical issue that spread to poorly packaged powder or some residue that wasn't cleaned up properly.
