orion5What did you do today in reloading-land?
I set a personal record today by loading 600 223's. With my single stage! Of course all brass was prepped and ready to go. No crimp. Fun Sunday.

MNSIGStarted on what should have been a nice sized batch of 9mm then then something on the press got out of adjustment. A few hours later, I think I have it back to normal.

PrudenceSetup the second 550 at the cabin in hopes of being able to reload some in the garage there soon. Need to bring a stool as the bench seems a tad higher than at home.

argolferI finally got my 650 set up to do a batch of 9mm 147gr Xtremes for suppressor shooting. Decided on 3.9gr of N340 at 1.15" COL.
I plan on doing 2500 over the next week or so, but finished my first box of 500. I usually only reload for 20-30 minutes at a time once I get everything setup.

vulrathBought my first-ever 8lb jug of powder (IMR 4895). Dropped into Southaven and visited Sportsman's Warehouse like I do every time I have to drive out to the rental house, and after confirming that I'd be spending about the same after hazmat fees (maybe a few pennies more per lb) and shipping I grabbed the only one on the shelf.
I've already had a bunch of brass prepped for once I have the proper load worked up, and I've had the test rounds put together from a 1lb can I already have of the stuff. Now I just need the okay from the doctor.

So shot the match Saturday. Cluster! For some reason my DOPE and loads did not match. Now this is a load I have used forever: 175 SMK, Laupa brass, Varget 44.4 that clocked according to my MS V3 at 2630. Ran the numbers and 3.4 MILS for 500 yards. Cool cloudy day, no mirage, good picture of the target. First 20 were over 1 MIL high. Finally the spotter found them on the target and told me. (No pits, just spotters.) Cranked down to 2.4 MILS and was on the second target, but well below the water line. Scored a 179/200 after I got on target. Big fat 0.0 on the first target.
Late in the last 20 rounds, I had a solidly sticky blot lift. I cranked it out and continued the last couple of shots. I looked at the case and sure enough, ejector swipe, though very light.
Today, I pulled the cases to put them on the annealer and this is what I found:
2X Lapua fired case.
Go figure. I hope my scale hasn't gone south on me.

45 CalLast couple weeks I have pulled the handle on my 550's so much my are is still sore.
Two k plus on 223 and about the same on 06
The worse part is putting that eight round in the clips.
My old thumb has taken a beating and about used up that second order of clips.
This week I plan to start on an additional 800 223 and its stripper time on those.

wingsparCompletely forgot I loaded some .308 the other day and thought I loaded .223 last, so when I went to throw powder into the first .223 case today I could see the powder pile up on top of the case thru the clear drop tube. Didn’t understand what happened at first, but I put my hand out to catch the powder, but a good amount went all over my bench. 41 grains of powder does not fit into a .223 case. I had one more brain fart later on, but I’m not going to talk about that. Needless to say, I had to clean powder off my bench twice today, and that’s Never happened before.

WildSigDe-capped 22lbs of 9mm today so that I can stainless tumble them next weekend.
After next month the outdoor USPSA season will be done until next March. Then it will be time to go full on case prep mode. I have a 5 gallon pail full of 9mm and one full of 40 cal that will need to be prepped over the winter.
