Struck a deal for a 1989 W German 226.

Going to pick it up tomorrow morning.

Kicked myself for not starting to reload sooner in life. Finally getting started and there's no powder to be found.

Picked up the 226 and shot the CRAP out of it.

Now I have a shit ton of brass that needs processed. Fun fun...

Oh, I also wish I would have ordered more than 3k 147gr 9mm... Love this thing almost as much as my 227!

One of my weekly group started reloading around 6 months ago and we helped him get components.

He bought his own bullets, and proudly told us how he'd bought 1,000 of them.

We told him that 1,000 was nothing and he'd better start looking for more and he didn't believe us....for a few weeks.

Now he keeps at least 7 or 8 thousand bullets on hand.

Oh, I have a bunch of 124gr on hand already. Today's shooting was all reloads. It's not that I'm in danger of running dry, it's just that there was a 10% off sale that ended Friday. I ordered 3k 9mm and 2k more 45.

Then yesterday, the day after the sale ended (of course), I found the 226, and picked it up today.

Of course, had I ordered 10k I wouldn't have found the 226 and SWMBO would have had enough 9mm to last her the next 4 years. Lol

New 9mm recipe was a success! After moving to HP38 powder, I had to start all over again.
Plus, I'm using a 125 grain RNFP designed for .38/.357 revolvers, which is longer than most conventional 9mm bullets. I size them at .357.

3.4 grains of HP38 and a short OAL of 1.06" makes for a fine combination out of both full size and compact carry guns. Mild recoil.

I'm happy. Now, to load up A LOT of them.

Filled the better part of a 30 cal can today.



I can sustain 400 rounds an hour at a comfortable pace. I do think I'll pony up for a case feeder though in the next few months.

Over the weekend I picked up 17lbs of various powder main ones being the H110 and IMR 4227 for 300 blackout and picked up 5k small rifle primers!

Was a good run!

Shot 500 rounds through my gen4 Glock 34 yesterday after I updated to the Apex failure resistant extractor. Not a single brass-to-face incident even with lighter loads.

Then I cleaned all the brass....left them in the tumbler for 23 hours. Ooops, forgot to set the timer. Anyhoo, that's some clean brass!

Tonight I loaded 1,000 rounds of 9mm 115gr to use up the remaining Berry's that I have which will be used on Saturday practice and Sunday for the first 3GN match of the year. Now I'll be finally Berry's-free, and will check out some loads for the 12k X-Treme 147gr bullets I got recently.

Oh, and two shipments of powder came today.... 10# of H322, 8# of 1200-R, and 8# of 10X.

It's been a busy day in reloading land.

I got some Hodgdon CFE Pistol powder today.

Setup couple of test loads

20 rounds with 5.8gr, 230 plated X-treme Plated bullet with 1.245 oal and another 20 with 6.0gr.

Will go to the range tomorrow to test them out.

Hodgdon website has 5.4-6.2 for Lead and 6-6.8 for FMJ. Trying to find a happy medium.

Not a bad round,I shoot weekly with my X/D shooter.I had three of them in that caliber.
They first came out they were around $250 a copy,that why I had so many'
I gave one to a friend for Christmas this past year.
I was caring a 45 but just recently switched to 5.7X28.
I tend to loose interest and switch calibers.

When the 40cal first came out, I had to have a couple.....or so, of them. I went through a lot of 40cal ammo. A few years ago, I sort of "fell out of love" with that caliber, and haven't shot them since. Maybe someday I will go back and try again, but I doubt it.

I have one .40 S&W, a SigPro 2340. It was my first handgun.

I, too, have fallen out of love with the caliber, but it's not the gun's fault - that pistol has been nothing short of spectacular in every respect. I just discovered 45ACP by way of a 227, and more recently, discovered the joys of a West German 226. Both of those are much more enjoyable to shoot than the 2340, and it's soley due to the excessive muzzle flip of the .40 S&W. The 45 is so soft it's like a baby, and the 9... I can't describe it. I don't enjoy it as much as I do the 45, but it sure is nice.

Needs an SRT though. Wish TGS wasn't out of stock on them right now.

Range day here in MT, 69* and sun....

M&P 9 Pro and Pro Core w/RDS both loved the 147 lead loads with Silhouette. That RDS will show you how much you shake.

Shot some test loads in the .300BLK, the 125 gr. TNT's are shooting really nice with 110 V-max a close second. Chrono says the avg was 2312 with 18.6 gr. H110. 125 Sierra SP shows real promise with IMR 4227. Best 5 shot group today was the 125 TNT's into .590 @ 100 yds. Had to pack it up as the wind started to get ugly. Spring time on the east slope of the Divide, wind and minute by minute changes.
