All, I have a HF ultrasonic, the cheap small one, for cleaning brass. It works, sorta, but I need to run the cycle several times to get decent results. They now have a 6 liter unit, which should perform significantly better than the small one. Does anyone have one? How well does it clean dirty brass? Thx

I’m a little too ‘traditional’, still using corn cob media, with shine additives. If your smaller one only works so-so, wouldn’t the larger one be more of the same, on a bigger scale? Yes, maybe you have other uses for the ultrasonic cleaner. I have some things from Harbor Freight, don’t need the very best(high $$) for everything. I did read an article not long ago, the author suggested to limit anything with an electrical cord from Harbor Freight. He said the highest likelihood of failure was cheap electrical items from Harbor Freight.

I guess you could do brass with an ultrasonic cleaner, I have one but I think most would be better served with a wet tumbler with SS pins or maybe a traditional walnut shell vibrating unit.

I gave up on US cleaning for brass a long time ago. I've got 2, and both are disappointments compared to my FART Light wet tumbler. There's no contest - it's faster, and it gets everything cleaner overall. My only complaint is separating out the stainless media, and even that isn't a big deal. Of course, being that you already use ultrasonic you're already aware but if you don't deprime before cleaning you'll need to dry in a toaster oven or food dehydrator. I tried all manner of homebrew cleaning concoction but have settled on Hornady one shot brass solution. It works pretty well for me.
