Hey,

Does anyone have good load data for .243AI? I am having one built with a slow twist (1:13") for light bullets (less than 75gr) but finding reloading data is near impossible. I have a good supply of 55gr ballistic tips, and 58gr vmax. Thanks!

The Handbook For Shooters & Reloaders Volume I by P.O. Ackley himself has something like 45+ loads for the cartridge.

This is a reprint or something and sells for $19.95

This is an original and sells for $198.48

6mmbr.com has a good article on the cartridge.

Most of the reloading data is for heavy for weight bullets. I’m heading the direct opposite… I want fast flat screamers for rock chuck hunting hence the slow twist barrel. My goal is 4100-4200fps and barrel life be damned! I ordered the Ackley book, but I fear it will have outdated powders for what can be stuffed in there using modern stuff. So far I’ve heard Varget and w760 are great powders. I have w760, but Varget is unobtainable. I have 100 rounds of the Hornady super performance 58gr v max, so that’s where I’ll sight in/ fireform brass. I figure if it’s good enough I’ll blast some chucks with it and see if the powder market lightens up a bit before I’m forced to load with less than optimal powders.

Found another article that lists the 55gr noslers.
Also some scuttlebutt on a forum stated that you can use the data on the 6mm Rem as a starting point as the case capacities are the same.
Good luck.
