After reloading on a Lee turret press for 10 years, the time finally came for me to go full-on progressive. Steel matches and practice days are consuming about 1k rounds each month.

After much research, I bought once and cried once with the Dillon XL750. Been taking my time setting it up this week, and just ran my first 30 rounds through it. Took two minutes.

I should have done this about 8 years ago.

Still keeping the Lee turret on hand for the lower-quantity calibers, as well as for small batch case prep work. The Lee turrets do good work once you are familiar with them.

But boy, oh boy. This Dillon is simply fantastic.

Very nice. I’m still at the ‘turret’ level. Since my son went in the military any reloading requirements are down a good bit.

I had an inferior progressive press years ago. If I was to do it again, Dillon no doubt.

That is a Beautiful machine. Only problem I see it that black upright pole is missing its top hat (case feeder)….. Case Feeders change the entire dynamics of reloading.

Oh, a case feeder will be on there no later than September. With the jump in complexity compared to the Lee turret, I’m taking things slow for the first couple months in order to thoroughly understand this machine.

I too started on a Lee Turret, and still use it regularly for my lower-volume calibers. I added an LNL progressive a few years back for 9mm, and am glad I did. It's not as fast as the Dillon, but offered a few features that suited my reloading needs and workspace a little better. Maybe someday when my kids move out and I have more space I'll get into a Dillon.

Well, some folks are just slow!! LOL Congrats, I have had my 650 for many, many years.

This 750 will last my lifetime.

That’s what I’m talking about, here. The Lee stuff is fine and makes good ammo. However, they are disposable and easily replaceable when things stop working.
Not this Dillon. Crying once is worth it.

I strongly recommend the LED light kit if you don't already have it. It sure made my 550 a lot easier to use.

I think I can switch the LED I have on the Lee turret press over to the Dillon. Some double-sided tape should do the trick.

I have a 650 that I've added lots of aftermarket upgrades to; it is amazing compared to the 550b I used to have. Setup and changing calibers can take a bit of effort, but once you are ready, crank some tunes and grab a beer.

+1 on the LED light. There are multiple makes/designs. I got one that mounts in the hole in the center of the die plate. I also got some nice mechanisms that let me manually turn the primer AND brass feed on/off at will. A new shell ejector was worth it, too.

I acquired one very recently, haven't even cracked the box open yet. I need to watch many videos and see where to start.

Dillon’s setup videos are pretty good, using their in-house “Human Instruction Manual” guy.
I’ve loaded a little more than 2k rounds through the 750 already, and it is so very, very good.

Dillon has great customer service. I just cranked out a thousand rounds of subsonic 9mm and practice .223Rem on my 650; I noticed that the .223 resizing die was scratching the hell out of the outside of the case neck.

After getting connected to a rep through their chat, he got me an RMA# and I'm sending it back. They'll polish it up free of charge.

Dillons new case feeders go to 11!

Two mods, one free, that I really like are the DAA Turbo case feed plate. It works with almost all calibers and it seems to run smoother for me. The other is the micro switch mod where the motor doesn’t cycle on and off as each case goes through but will still shut off with a full tube of cases. https://www.doublealpha.biz/us...bo-case-feeder-plate The instructions for the mod are on that page too.

I’d get a steel case magnet for the tube as well as I’ve had brass colored steel cases get caught. Some Sig headstamp Ed and some Xtreme headstamp.

As for steel cases - yep, I’ve had a batch of that Xtreme brass colored steel cases recently. Hate that shit. ONE guy at our local steel challenge matches shoots it.
I detect it with a magnet when separating pins from brass in the cleaning stage.
