Florida – Governor has signed SB 1884 which puts teeth back in Florida’s Preemption Bill which has been in a court fight for years and that issue was settled in Florida’s favor late last year. A lot the law covered in the bill was put on hold by the courts until Florida won an appeal last year. Then they added to it and gave it huge teeth to keep those locals from passing illegal ordinances. It becomes effective July 1, 2021.

Idaho – HB 391, 392 & 393 have been signed by the Governor and are effective immediately. They put more restrictions on what things the State and Local Governments can’t do during a state of Emergency. Protecting our rights during a declared emergency especially our right to KABA.

Montana – The Governor signed SB 370 last week which went into effect immediately. It vastly improved their emergency powers statute protecting Firearm and all their components of carriers, sellers and shooting ranges plus other liberties no government entity can infringe doing an emergency. Short and Sweet to the point and I wish every state would copy their Emergency Staute!!!! I have to say Montana has been doing things right when it comes to our rights. Worth the look . https://leg.mt.gov/bills/2021/billpdf/SB0370.pdf

Oklahoma – The Governor has signed HB 2645 which goes into effect immediately. They updated their wording in the section of their code that covers outdoor events and defined minimum-security provisions that local governments have to have to ban firearms at temporary events.

Oregon – Looks like they are going to make things more difficult for Oregon Gun Owners. The bill has passed and the governor will sign it. It would become effective 9/28/2021. Must have a Trigger or cable lock on a firearm and in a safe unless it is on you or under your immediate control. If not secured and stolen person can be charged. Capitol is off limits and Local Governments can post all their property. Airports with over 1 million boardings are off limits and they just about doubled the cost of permits. https://olis.leg.state.or.us/l...ument/SB554/Enrolled

South Carolina - The Governor has not signed H 3094 but his spokesman stated he would sign it in the near future. The bill will allow those with a permit to open carry. One item also in the bill is SLED can’t charge for a permit. This act takes effect ninety days after approval by the Governor which would be sometime around the middle of August. https://www.scstatehouse.gov/s...er/3094_20210507.htm

Washington – Governor has signed SB 5038 which took effect immediately. This new law bans open carry in or near demonstrations and around the capitol building. Concealed carry is still legal with a valid permit. Definition of a demonstration is really broad! http://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/...pdf?q=20210513051118

Thanks again for the updates.

As expected, Oregon and Washington are going the wrong direction.

This thing is so poorly written it's hard to know, but I thought it was trigger/cable lock or safe. I didn't think it needed a trigger lock while in the safe.

Please review this again. It's colleges plus k-12 schools. Not all local government buildings as far as I read. You are correct about airports.
