While not exactly the same, I often carry in a Kenai chest rig when on horseback in public. On the farm I typically open carry in a thigh rig "Dyin ain't much of a livin...boy"

I may not be much help because I'm usually packing a J frame when I'm riding. My other option is a P365 if I want more capacity, but both are carried right front pocket because of two reasons. First off it doesn't matter where I ride or how I'm dressed, I'm not going anywhere without my pants. It's impossible for me to accidentally leave the gun anywhere but in my pocket, so that's one less thing to worry about on a ride. The second issue is potential bodily injury from landing on something that hard carried on your person. My personal take on this is if you hit something hard enough that anything on your person causes additional injury, you're moving so fast it was gonna hurt anyway. Anyway, that's my take. Keep the rubber side down. _____________________________ 'I'm pretty fly for a white guy'.
