How is it possible that safariland doesnt make a single retention holster for the 365 macro??

I have a couple dozen guys at work who carry the macro as a plain clothes and off duty gun, and every one of them would love to have an ALS holster for it. It seems like safariland has zero clue how popular the macro is. I spoke to customer service and the woman I spoke with said as far as she knows, there are no plans currently to make any ALS models for the macro...

Anyone have a friend that works for safariland and can find out what the hold up is?

I don't have a contact there, but the hold-up is always the production costs relative to the potential sales. Safariland is largely moving to injection molded (7TS, Vault, Solis, Species, and Schema) are all injection molded). This creates a massive up-front cost to have the molds made. The production time and cost per holster is shorter, but they need to have some sense that it's going to work out for them.

Otherwise, you probably need to be buying $25k worth of a holster.

My suspicions is that future releases for smaller guns, particularly for plainclothes use will trend towards the Solis line. There are currently SKUs listed in the will-fit chart for the 365XL with TLR-7sub but I cannot find that listed on the Solis product page. The fit code for the 365XL Solis is 465-7.

For what it's worth, I have a Solis for a 19 and TLR-7 and it actually seems really decent.

A Solis would be great, but even the 365XL isnt available yet...

The Macro is, and has been, one of the hottest selling compact 9's on the market for the past year, and Safariland has almost nothing for it...

I think it comes down to a combination of Safariland mostly catering to the duty carry market, small guns making up a small part of that market, and active retention being an even smaller part.

The 365 Macro may be very popular overall, but what percentage of those sales are to the market that demands active retention concealment? Probably not very much.

FYI the P365 Solis, to include the X Macro, is now listed on Safariland's website. If you have an Expert Voice account, you can get 40% off of MSRP.

How are you looking to carry it?
I've given up on finding the exact pre-made holster.
I'm a civilian and wanted a concealed carry shoulder holster for a P365 XL to carry inside a button up shirt.
I bought a Kangaroo Carry cloth shoulder holster, then found a paddle ALS Safariland when one was on sale somewhere or eBay.
Two screws will remove the paddle part so you end up with just the shell and ALS retaining parts. Then use some industrial strength Velcro to hold the shell firmly inside the cloth holster.
I've also put some foam padding on the shell to position it so the grip turns in towards my body to make it less visible.
I like this better than the Safariland shoulder holster because theirs places the gun almost horizontal, not barrel end down, and it's harder to conceal under a shirt and access.
Below is a link to the Kangaroo Carry site so you can see the position better. Their site isn't the best but you can get the idea.
Without the shell it's just the cloth and that isn't very secure in holding or trigger protection for my taste. I use the Standard or Air Marshall Model so there's room to get it into the pouch part.
