G26
Anyone ankle carry a G26? If yes, how does it conceal and carry? Too heavy, to thick, etc. It would be carried in police uniform trousers. Thanks

Before I got diabetes and had to worry about circulation in my feet, I ankle carried a G26 on duty for about 6 years. Worked great. I also ankle carried that same gun at my day job when I was a reserve, and nobody ever knew. Galco Ankle Glove is a superb choice.

ETA: I carried high on my ankle above duty boots. Over regular shoes it does tend to slide down a bit more than I'd like. Over boots it stays put, but you do have to pull your pants leg up a few more inches to draw.

Another vote for Galco Ankle Glove. I use one to carry my S&W 642. Liked it so much I got one for my Glock 26.

Thanks guys. I work a part timer at which while they want us to be armed, they want our pistols to be concealed. I currently carry a G43 in an ankle but I don't like the capacity so I thought a G26 might solve that problem but I wasn't sure about the viability of that. This answers my question.

Bulldog other than the capacity of the 43 how did it carry on the ankle?

It carried great. So much so that the only problem was that there times I had to bend down to make sure it was still there because it is so light I didn't even notice it. I also used the Ankle Glove.

I used to ankle carry my G26 a lot in an Alessi. It’s miles better than a Galco Ankle Glove. For me, the neoprene of the Galco flexes too much from the weight of the G26. You need to keep it snug on your leg to minimize the swinging when you walk.

I probably wore the G26/Alessi about 10-12 hours a day under jeans for many years.

I have an Alessi for my 239. I bought it used from a member here. Love the holster but no matter what I did I could not keep the strap from becoming undone and the holster falling off. I could just not get it to tighten up enough to prevent that. So I sent it to Ritchie Holster Co. to have the strap replaced thinking that would help. He replaced the velcro but that didn't help at all.

The thing about ankle carrying a G26 is it’s enough weight to take some time to acclimate to it and you will feel a bit like “peg leg Pete” at first. Once you get past that it ankle carries just fine.

I think a G26 would make for a fantastic ankle gun, considering it's one of the best pistols around.

Are you guys getting your pants custom-tailored? Not that I've tried concealing a G26 on the ankle but it seems to me that it would print conspicuously.

Then again, who goes around looking at people's shoes and ankles?

Now you just need to wear a 33 round magazine on the inside of your other leg, and you would have the mother of all backup pistols.

While I don’t generally ankle carry and haven’t with the G26 for a long time I don’t remember printing being an issue with Jeans or 5.11 type material/carpenters pants or khakis. I would run the 10 round flat floor plate mags. “Boot cut” stuff made drawing easier.

I did however find it printed like hell in shorts. Wink

It doesn't print at all that I am aware of. It actually carries quite well. The only problem I have is the speed of draw. There is none. You are correct about it being one of the best pistols ever made. I bought this one from a member here. I at first didn't really like it mainly because I felt that it didn't do anything better than my G19. It is however growing on me and I find myself carrying it with increasing frequency even when I am not working that part timer and I'm really starting to like it. It will probably become my off duty replacing my much loved 239 something I never would have thought possible.

Para I’m all for as much ammo as I can carry but if I need 33 rounds in a backup gun that’s one hell of a gunfight lol

For your only gun? Confused The attacker will have shot, knifed or clubbed you long before you could get your gun out.

Yes I know and am looking for a better way to carry it. I also tried a fanny pack and didn't like that too much but I may end up going back to that unless I can find another way.

If just being unobtrusively armed is OK, are your pants pockets wide & deep enough for a P365-sized small pistol? With a pocket holster there would be a bulge, but not obviously a gun.

I will try that but I'm not sure if it will work because of the weight

Bulldog, I’ve been trying to decide between G26 and G43 (wife won’t let me buy both lol). Forget about ankle carry, if you could have only one which would you choose?
