This will be used in various outdoor activities like horse back riding, so some type of positive retention (similar to ALS in the safariland lineup) and one handed locking is important.

I always recommend anything from Concealment Solutions. Their Cobra OWB holster is awesome, and even is convertible to a chest holster with their available harness. They have it in a combo deal as well where you get the parts needed for the OWB option, or to convert over to the chest holster.

Safariland makes the Model 578 "Pro Fit" ALS holsters for several different Canik guns. Might be worth a try.
GunfightersInc also makes their OWB and Kenai chest rigs for you gun. Should be a good choice for your use.
