Oregon Non-Resident CCW permit?
Is this possible and if so, is there a friendly sherif on the eastern side of the state that would be willing to issue?

Oregon doesn’t recognize any other states permits.

In the past it was the sheriff of Grant County had a process. Check their website. Only certain days and times. I believe you also need to make an appointment.

Check this website, it lists all Oregon counties that issue nonresident permits.

https://oregonchl.org/

It also has links to the various county sheriffs.

No, but from reading the rules on this PDF, it looks like it's almost impossible to get.

It would seem Malheur County is friendly.

I’m sure you checked, FL & UT are the more common non-res permits. I didn’t look up what you gain where.

Sounds like OR may not honor a few common ones?

I have been told that residents neighboring states, who live relatively close to Oregon, can obtain permits relatively easily.
Also if you own or lease real estate in Oregon, you can obtain a permit.

I think Klamath is pretty friendly.

The challenge was / may be in logistics for in-person interview.
