I have the 5.11 trainer belt and the TDU belt.
The trainer is fine for OWB, but they have no stiffener inside and may not be ideal for IWB/AIWB.
The TDU one is basically a floppy single layer piece of nylon that's great for just holding up your pants.

You mentioned Mastermind... you like them compared to 5.11?

I prefer the Mastermind belts.
I do wear the 5.11 trainer belt as a regular belt for work just to hold up my pants.

The 5.11 belts I have are not rigid enough for me for Appendix carry. I used the trainer belt for OWB before, and it worked just fine for that.

Before I had the Mastermind belts (bought 3 of them), I used an SOE EDC belt, worn it for several years and worked great, but didn't like the cobra buckle printed, and had to be turned all the way to the side, so I found the Mastermind belts, which have the lowest profile buckle I could find.
