Pocket carry? Really?
Since The Valley of the Sun AZ is a mostly shorts weather place for all but the 2-3 weeks of “winter”… I pocket carry these two 94.6% of the time. The 642 mostly “commando”

and my AZ Centennial 1912-2012 LCP in a pocket holster.

I have a "wallet" holster that holds my P3AT with a laser. Works perfect for me.

Just saw this thread so I figured I'd chime in.

I've been carrying two large smartphones for several years now and typically carry both in my right front pants pocket. The dress or khaki pants I wear for work typically have deep enough pockets and I size them loose enough that this isn't a problem with the 1 1/4" beltman belt I wear. But it is a problem with most jeans.

I went by the local fabric store and purchased fabric that was pretty close to the pocket fabric in the jeans. Bought two yards as it isn't that expensive.

Whenever I buy a new pair of jeans, I immediately take the jeans and my fabric to my local tailor and have him extend the pockets by two inches. Now no problem carrying the phones.

Same idea will work for pocket carrying a handgun.

A) Stop wearing skinny jeans. Big Grin

(I carried a Rohrbaugh when I was younger, in shape, and dating.)

Now, I carry a J frame.

B) No one is looking at your pockets to see if they see a gun

C) It’s very useful as an urban pedestrian. It, and appendix carry, are probably about the only way to carry as an urban pedestrian.

Ruger LCR in a Milt Sparks holster, best in Carharts but jeans will do.

If I wasn't leaving my Island Paradise this has been my carry preference for a long time. Going into the larger more dangerous world I'd change my rig.

My preference is Staccato C2 in appendix carry IWB holster but when I can’t, one of my P238s in a high noon pocket holster works well. I guess all my pants/jeans must have the right kind of pockets because it works perfectly for me. I am a big guy at 6’6” and 200lbs though. The only issue is the gun takes the pocket my wallet usually is in so I have to have it in the rear pocket which I don’t much like (even though I have a VERY slim wallet with only the bare minimum)

Tonight, my wife and I had a black tie dinner so I carried the little 238 in the inside pocket of my tuxedo. Felt a bit James Bond-ish

I will emphasize, or maybe reemphasize, the use of Duluth Trading pants, particularly their Duluth Flex Firehose cargos. This are fairly heavy and durable, two qualities that help hide a firearm. There is also a coin pocket that serves as kind of mini holster for a snub J frame barrel.

I have also been wearing Duluth Flex Firehose cargos for years and almost always pocket carry. I have several Sticky Holsters that I use for pocket holsters. S&W 432PD, S&W Bodyguard 380 and XD-S 4 inch 9mm are my normal rotation.

For 38 years or more both on duty and off I have carried various J frame S&W revolvers in my right-hand pants pocket , usually in the cheapest soft IWB holster with the belt clip removed or with a handkerchief folded over it to break up the outline just a bit. All of the revolvers had either shrouded or bobbed hammers. I have never been challenged as to its presence. The jeans have regrettably gotten a bit bigger but the gun remains the same.

And no, regrettably I have never been asked by a beautiful woman if that is a pistol in my pocket or was I just happy to see her.

I pocket carry a Sig 938 every day. I use a Recluse holster that is a clamshell design which makes the draw much easier for me than other holsters I have tried. While it is obvious to an onserver that I am carrying something in my pocket, the print does not scream "gun." Since I live in a Constitutional carry state, I wouldn't really care if people knew it was a gun anyway.

I pocket carry an sig 365 with the flush fit mag. I use a vedder pocket holster made of kydex and contoured to my leg. I can carry it in jeans or shorts and pick my pants accordingly when buying. I’m 6’3” and 240 and you’d never notice it’s there. Plus with the vedder it has enough retention that it’ll hold the loaded gun upside down in the holster and is easy to clear when drawing from the pocket. I used to carry a j frame which weighed the same and had 5 vs 11 rounds. Best carry set up I’ve ever seen which has been multiple j frames, a p230, Glock 43… I’ll never go back.

My 642 and its R Grizzle pocket holster. Also a Barranti Leather 2x2x2 ammo pouch. These are with me just about all the time, even if carrying a larger gun in a belt holster.
