I just watched Road to Perdition again. It’s been a while. I remembered liking the movie, but man what a film. Awesome cast with Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Daniel Craig, Jude Law and Stanley Tucci. I really like the story and the cinematography.

If you haven’t seen this movie it’s definitely time well spent.

There’s also a lot of great guns to observe, Colts, Thompson’s, a Savage pistol and more.

A lot of the movie was filmed in the old Pulman neighborhood in Chicago.
The Florence Hotel- Paul Newman's house. Tye warehouse across 111th street from the hotel is where the shooting that the kid saw.

111th and Cottage Grove.
My old police station was just east of where the filming was.

Soooo.... Someone got into a little bit of trouble during the filming.
Seems like the Hollywood types don't like it when squad cars go screaming lights and sirens through their set...
To be fair, there was a shooting and an officer chasing the offender on the other side of the set.

Lots of Chicago Typewriter. And the cars are cool!

One of my favorite Hanks films as well as Paul Newman’s. Daniel Craig was even a major character, playing a pathetic prick. Tucci was his usual, brilliant. Big fan of period films.

Scorsese has one coming out in November about the Osage Natives getting killed off for oil land/money. IIRC set about 10 years after Road to Perdition.

Great movie, bleak, dark, well-acted.

I watched it this morning because of this thread. Glad I did. Great movie and yes, it is on the dark side but well-acted and a very good story line. I didn't know that Hanks and Newman made a movie together. Definitely worth the time.

Yes, I love how the sound is muted in the lead up, then the sound fades back in, you hear the rain and then the Thompson erupts. Such a powerful scene.

He gave him half of that drum too. No open casket for old Rooney.

Excellent movie! I loved it when they drove into Chicago.

I never saw the movie, but there's a connection to Rock Island IL, just across the river from me.

Just watched it for the first time.
Excellent movie. Not sure why I never watched it before but the acting, story and cinematography were all top notch.

It's a great film I have always enjoyed watching. Cast and direction, cinematography and the period costuming and sets really sucked me into the film. I particularly enjoyed all the vintage cars.

Fantastic movie! Hated the ending though...

Cool movie with a nice soundtrack. Hanks did a good job as a tough guy.

I also just watched it the other night thanks to this thread. Not certain why I've never watched it before, but I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this one, been a while since I've seen it. May have to find it again.

Watched it several times... always good!

I saw it in the theater back then. My girlfriend at the time was like "What a fine little tale of Americana" while I was thinking "Where can I get $25,000 for a Thompson?"
