Jack Ryan Jr is a mean mo fo who kicks ass! And a sharp auditor (his cover story) too when he's not analyzing bad guy behavior.

I do a lot of vacation travel and read lots of paperbacks. The post-Clancy authors have put out dozens about The Campus, and it seems like Jack Jr is always the star.

The 3rd season story line is straight out of the movie "Hunter Killer" which is a combination of Red Storm Rising, Sum of All Fears (but an actual coup de'etat instead of a suspected one), and Cardinal of the Kremlin.

I enjoyed it for the mindless fun.

I really enjoyed the latest season. Good story and kept me on the edge of my seat for most of it.

Agreed. It is well done mindless fun. You don't always want to be challenged by every entertainment.

I enjoyed all of it. Finished it last night and right to the end I was intrigued.

This was really high on the entertainment value scale for me, as were the first two seasons. Sure kinda wish, though, Luka could have spent his remaining days in quiet reflection and peace trying to forgive himself for the indiscretions of his youth. Not meant to be, I guess, as it looks like he's either headed for the gallows or the gulag. One of the two... Frown

I just watch this show with the understanding that they've merged Jack Ryan and John Clark into the same character and it puts me much more at ease.

But yes this entire season all I could think was "isn't all this basically The Sum of All Fears retold?".

Even though he plays a good guy in the series, it’s hard for me to see the actor Michael Kelly as anyone but “Doug Stamper.”

Twas a bit hokey/cringe-y at times.

My biggest gripe was a small thing, and not directed just at this show, but Hollywood writers in general. He's standing on the hill top and I actually said out loud "and a helicopter is going to pop up out of nowhere". (that he nor us could hear at all for some magical reason)

Which of course it did. How did I know this? Because we've seen it over and over again in other movies and tv shows. Roll Eyes Forget not having any original ideas, how about just not repeating the really stupid ones?

Heh! I had similar thoughts when I watched that scene. When the camera, ie, helcopter pulled away and showed Ryan standing on that cliff, I thought to myself; How did he not see or hear that thing coming? I can only conclude that the helicopter got there early and was hovering far below the cliff and when Ryan got there they could swoop up and say, Da-daa! Big Grin

He upgraded watches for season 3. He appears to be wearing a vintage 6265 Rolex Daytona.

Me too. I really liked the Doug Stamper character. He had depth. It broke my heart when he turned that van around.

I am LOVING this series. It’s soooooo fun!

I wasn’t expecting to see Doug Stamper “Mike” in season 2. Damn his character was perfect. Willing to do what it takes to help out Ryan & Greer even if he has to get his hands dirty. One of my favorite scenes was when Mike led them to the hidden room in the embassy filled with guns and cash then they escaped. They could not have cast a better character for that role. I love that they had Mike fire off an RPG. Big Grin

We just finished season 2 last night and will be starting season 3 later today. Cool

Man I don’t know if I would consider that an upgrade. Jumping across high rises, getting shot at and beaten to hell is going to rack up some watch repair costs. Hamilton is more affordable to fix than vintage Rolex though realistically neither is a good choice for that line of work. Wink

We just finished it last night, thought it was pretty good.

Nice to see them get off the Middle East and Middle Eastern terrorism bandwagon as that theme is beat to death IMO.
It’s like the 90’s again and the Russians and other Eastern Europeans are the bad guys once again, LOL

What happened to Jack’s love interest from the first season? She sort of disappeared and never did come back.

Man, it's so long between seasons, I don't know how you guys remember previous seasons, never mind characters in those seasons!

I did as well and it flies under the radar which is how I imagine a CIA agent would typically operate. Any Rolex Daytona, let alone a $90k vintage one, doesn't fit the with grayman in my mind.

I miss a John Clark or Ding Chavez character, and I think that would make it more believable.
