When in the movie Secretariat was leaving the pack in the dust by many lengths they played "Oh Happy Days" song. That just yanked my heart strings thinking about how proud and strong that horse felt running..

Speaking of songs in Risky Business, I was recently reminded of the famous "Dancing to Bob Seger" scene. There's a "Mandela Effect" connected to it. (Everyone know about the Mandela Effect?)

Apparently, people remember a timeline/dimension where Tom Cruise was dancing while wearing his famous Wayfarer sunglasses and a white shirt. Many parodies and homages feature the character wearing the glasses and shirt. In reality, Tom Cruise actually had no glasses and a pink striped shirt. I remember the striped shirt and no glasses, and I had never heard of this Risky Mandela example before.

After seeing Platoon for the first time, it took me YEARS to not get choked up as soon as this epic masterpiece started playing.

"Rejoice, oh young man, in thy youth..."

"If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

Here is one that you might not have seen in its entirety - but that last minute 30 seconds is fairly well known.

Yup. For me, I remember who I was with when I saw it, what movie theater it was, what the weather was like that night.

It was a memorable time because it was the last time that the circle of friends I hung out with all got together, before we all moved on and went separate ways. Good times.
