Norah Jones: awkward and endearing
Her presence hasn't changed at all since I first saw her at HOB New Orleans in 2002.

I've got three of her albums. I recall some review (Stereophile?) when she first burst on the scene in 2002 prompted me to buy her "Come Away With Me" album. Great voice indeed!

She only appears comfortable while she's singing and playing. In between songs, especially when she talks to the audience or the camera, she comes across as shy and a bit awkward. I have always appreciated that about her because she seems more genuine and down to earth than many other artists.

I've got two of her albums. I find her "Man of the Hour" lyrics funny...

"It's him or me"
That's what he said
But I can't choose between a vegan
And a pothead
So I chose you
Because you're sweet
And you give me lots of lovin'
And you eat meat
And that's how you became
My only man of the hour

You never lie
And you don't cheat
And you don't have any baggage tied
To your four feet
Do I deserve
To be the one
Who will feed you breakfast, lunch, and dinner
And take you to the park at dawn
Will you really be
My only man of the hour

I know you'll never bring me flowers
But flowers, they will only die
And though we'll never take a shower together
I know you'll never make me cry

You never argue
You don't even talk
And I like the way you let me lead you
When we go outside and walk
Will you really be
My only man of the hour
My only man of the hour
My only man of the hour
Ruff !

(She chose her dog)

sometimes its very nice to hear music like this presented like this.

all the way over produced stuff gets very old , very quick .

I will search for other At home offerings

She has a great voice and I've heard her before but had no idea how popular she has been.
I googled the name and she has sold 50 million albums so I guess I'm late to the party.

I always thought that Norah Jones wrote Don't Know Why Because it fits her style so well. I was surprised to find out it was written by Jesse Harris

I think they actually performed it together once

I really like Norah Jones.

One of my favorite songs is "Deceptively Yours" that she did with the Peter Malick Group. It is so different from her usual style.
