Fighting the good fight

Note: Not to be confused with the similarly-titled documentary film on Amazon Prime.

This new war movie just dropped today, and is well worth a watch. It's fictionalized, but based on real-world events, and follows a paramilitary unit of the Iraqi Police as they battle ISIS in the ruins of Mosul.

Lots of war action scenes and gunfights. Lots of AKs, Glocks, and Berettas, as well as a Dragunov and an M4, and even some unexpected firearms like an Israeli FAL and Galil and a Czech ZB-53 medium machine gun.

Also includes lots of little details that show that the folks who wrote this film knew their stuff, including stuff like ISIS use of dronecopter IEDs, the presence of Iranian military advisors covertly assisting the various militia groups, and the trend of finding large amounts of Western pornography in the possession of ISIS fighters who are claiming to be such devout Muslims who hate the West. (Which was also true for Al-Qaeda, including Osama Bin Laden himself in his final hideout in Pakistan.)

Very good movie! I agree with PHPaul, ending was unexpected.

Almost wish it had been a bit longer, with them going on to find the son,
but that would be a no go with the wife and daughter in tow.

Thanks for the heads up!

Agreed, great movie very sad that ISIS... the JV squad was able to grab as much control in the vacuum created by Odumbass. A true testament to what those people went through following the collapse of the government.
