44-83887 – restored to flying status in Douglas, Georgia and first flown on December 31, 2018.[27] During the restoration process, a number of written notes and graffiti by the original factory workers were found on internal surfaces. These were preserved and later reapplied to the interior of the finished aircraft.[28][29] Registered as FAA tail number N887XP,[30] as of January 2022, this aircraft is currently on loan in flying condition to the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum at Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville, Florida.[31]

Please correct me if wrong, but I believe an F-82 shot down the first enemy plane of the Korean War.

Always seemed like one of the best of the odd ball designs to me, and I'd love to see one in person.

Apparently they were the first ones in the Korean war.
The P38 Lightnings were noted and popular in WWII, lot of publicity, I'm sure most in here know about the twin mustangs even though they don't get mentioned much.
Saw them mentioned on Combat Channel and thought it odd that I've never heard of them before.
Just more proof that I need to move the rock I'm living under .

The P38 is my hands-down favorite WW2-era plane.
Knew of the F82, but had forgotten about it.
