He claims Disney wanted him to dumb the show down.
Others claim HR got involved over him being abusive to cast, others.

Maybe they told him not write in his character getting brutally ass raped every episode and he couldn’t work under such oppressive conditions.

I'll continue not watching. I gave the show a season and several episodes into the second but had to bail. I've stuck out some pretty bad series out of hardheadedness but "Mayans" sucked on too many levels.

That's kind of where I'm at, only I stopped mid way through S.O.A. and never started Mayans. I watched the final 2 episodes of S.O.A. just to see how it ended, and that's that for me.

I'm willing to bet the standards for Disney are different than what Sutter is accustom to. Just a thought.

I never watched "Mayans" but stopped viewing "SOA" after I grew tired of hearing characters say, "We've got to consider our options!" about three times each episode. Of course this M.O. could have resulted in a good drinking game! Roll Eyes

I made it through SOA, but only a couple episodes of Mayans. It was just too cheesy and weak storylines

Season 2 is an improvement over Season 1. Sutter was leaving next season anyway and had stepped back to let Elgin take over as primary showrunner this season. I'm not sure what firing him accomplishes at this point.

Mayans is no SOA.
Watched all of SOA and in the end it ran it's course.
Only made it through a couple episodes of Mayans.
YMMV
