I know that effect!

On my Mac I use the bash shell in Terminal, and emacs is my text editor. Many of the emacs commands to navigate and search text files are in muscle memory.

Occasionally muscle memory fails, and I have to consciously think of the command. But I don’t know it! I have to do something else until muscle memory recovers.
