A great movie, watch it whenever I can. Very gritty, great acting, and great dialogue. Never had any desire to watch the Stallone remake.

Yes, excellent film.

I'd rather watch this than anything made in the last 25 years.

And one of the few movies that has the Sig P210 playing a role.

Neither of those vids mentioned that "Get Carter" is on TCM Saturday night at, I think, 8PM Eastern. Don't know which version it is, but I'm recording it, as Michael Caine's movies are among my favorites.

Excellent! Haven't seen it. I'll add it to the must-see list. Thanks for the recommendation!

Michael Caine is a superb actor who has done a lot of crap but in a good film he is tops.

The unrestored version of Get Carter was just on TCM this evening.

In the "Afterwords" Mankiewicz said Carter's death was demanded as payment for his crimes, but in my mind the movie didn't justify it.

Unlike "Casablanca" where censors, demanding that Rick tell Ilsa to stay with her husband as the correct moral decision, helped make it the great movie it is.

“You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me it's a full time job. Now behave yourself.”

Happy to say I have the 4k disc of this movie.

Great soundtrack as well. Roy Budd. (Although the extra footage of Budd playing piano and synth to the footage is slightly out of sync.)

I have always thought that the gritty depiction of Newcastle was one of the best aspects of the film.
