HBO documentary on Natalie Wood
On HBO tonight. Have not seen it. Hope it is done well. TCM has been running a number of her films including Rebel Without a Cause, Splendor in the Grass and The Searchers.

Looks like a whitewash for "Daddy Bob" (Wagner) by the family. According to numerous sources, he and Natalie didn't just "argue" (as stated in the HBO series), his actions included domestic violence (physical assaults). He's given several different stories about what transpired on their boat on the night of her death, but these too are ignored during in the documentary.

"I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."

I enjoyed looking at the film of her with her children. Sad story it was. Interesting how all the Hollywood elite were seen by analysts five days a week. Somehow the substance abuse aspect of their lives was never addressed. Marilyn Monroe was so drugged up with barbituates she could hardly function. She barely made it through the Misfits, her last movie. Natalie and Robert certainly seem to fit the bill.

Quite a star. If Robert Wagner had anything to do with it, at least one of the daughters doesn't hold him to it. He's either the best actor in the world, his daughter is a dupe, or he isn't culpable.

I for one, doubt that he would be involved in the death of a woman, that he cared enough about to marry twice.
