I read theses books on a deployment and

mr kablammoI read those when I was a teenager in the FRG forty years ago. I was thinking of reading again. And for forty years I have had an idle interest in learning to play Skat.
For a real classic have go at the Good Soldier Schweik by Jaroslav Hasek. It's Czech.

Replacement TommelI enjoyed the revolt of Gunner Asch.
Kirst's most famous novel, "The Night of the Generals" is very good too.
