I realize this isn't a revelation to the community here, but I felt like reviving the love for this movie and sequence.

Michael Mann is a national treasure, and this, IMO, is at the top of the heap for film climax. The score, the (lack of) dialogue, the cinematography, all of it.

Wes Studi is fucking exceptional, Daniel Day Lewis is...well, Daniel Day Lewis.

Somehow I always get something in my eye after Uncas runs off to save Alice.
