marksman41I didn't like her character in Bosch Legacy so I'll wait, too, to hear how it goes.

I don't even like her character in the novels.

jljonesI made it about 20 minutes. The girl power cast isn’t close to believable. Harry didn’t show up to save the plot so I swapped over and started watching Bosch season 3.

6gunsWatched the first two episodes last night. Wasn't impressed. Harry did make it in and if his character stays in, it might salvage the series. I won't get my hopes up. The acting isn't great and the lines are corny and predictable.

McGregorSeems to me to be somewhat the same as Dept.Q. Certainly not going to have a Bosch type tone.

Tooky13Finished watching it tonight, thought it was decent, seen much worse. Looks like Bosch had some cosmetic work done in the off-season. Definitely looks like there'll be more as it ends on a cliff hanger.

6gunsI watched episodes 3 and 4 last night and they kept me interested. Certainly not Bosch, but there were some cleaver developments. There was also some wokeness...of course. But I'll keep going and see what happens.

smschulzBig Maggie Q fan, so it's a GO for me.
Just started watching.
July 13, 2025, 08:48 AM
urbanwarrior238It passes the time if nothing else to watch and it is filmed in very good lighting and good camera work..meaning it is very sharp, good color tones, etc. I will watch it through.

pulicordsI watched the entire season of this series and was disappointed. It seemed like a pale, woke attempt at getting the Bosch audience using "bait and switch" tactics. The character played by Maggie Q was far less believable than Bosch and seemed to be too fragile, too much the "victim" (of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sexism by department personnel), than any woman that would knowingly get into such an occupation and was surrounded by equally weak characters. The characters all seemed to exude a "Me too!" aura, that wasn't just distracting, it seemed to be the very essence of their purpose in the story.
I've seen actual misconduct by officers of the type that was perpetuated within the story line(s), and know from experience that the vast majority of those working around such people would avoid the "usual suspects" like the plague, but management habitually would be in a state of perpetual denial for two reasons:
1) They don't have to suffer the avoidable consequences of being in close proximity to these "shit magnets", who bring all sorts of difficulties to their peers/co-workers, and...
2) Managers fear that any actions directed towards "problem children" which becomes public, naturally implies that it can be traced back to themselves, their (or the city's) policies and procedures, including hiring/retention practices.
While these issues also occurred in Bosch and his post LAPD work as a private investigator working for the criminal defense side of things (something I too did when I retired from LE), these previous series did a much better job of portraying the nuances than the Ballard attempt. I might watch future season(s), if they're offered, but I did take advantage of the fact that Prime has gone so far as to offer all the previous episodes of Bosch, which I've started watching again. Ten years time has passed and that's enough for me to have forgotten a lot of the earlier plot twists and the "Easter eggs" that were hidden and so enjoyable to discover. In the meantime, I'll finish by noting that just because Ballard (the character) carries a 1911 pistol like Bosch, doesn't mean she or the series fills his shoes. Maybe the next season, they'll do a better job.

Me too.
It isn't Nikita, but I'm always willing to give Maggie Q a chance.
I finished it last night and will say that it ended stronger than it started. I liked the twist and turns it took and could see some interesting character development it following seasons.
The ending cliff hanger was enough to get me to watch a second season if they green light it

6gunsI wasn't a LEO so I can't relate to pulicords references, but as the series progressed....as 9mmepiphany says, the series got stronger in my opinion. I finished it last night and found the later episodes very compelling. The cliffhanger, as said, was very shocking. I will definitely watch a next season.

maxwayneI was not totally surprised by the ending. Don't forget, I believe there is still 1 burner phone not located.
I am looking forward to the next season.

Rey HRHI never watched the Bosch series but I like this series. It's lite, doesn't require too much from me in terms of remembering the storyline other the councilman is hot on finding his sister's killer for their father's sake.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

airsoft guyI just finished it, it was alright. Nothing amazing, and like others have said it seemed a bit too on the nose with some of the woke elements, but at times it felt like they were playing a game of bingo with it. At least the gay cop was a guy who happened to be gay, and not a Gay Guy™. Show is full of 'member berries too (Oooh, you 'member Crate and Barrel? I 'member! 'Member J. Edgar? I 'member, I looove J. Edgar! 'Member Honey Chandler? Oooh, she's a bitch! But I 'member!).
Overall though I enjoyed it, and I'll chalk the complaints I have against it to just trying to find it's feet. I think it's got some potential, hopefully we get a few seasons out of it.

mark60It gets better as it goes on, not good but better. Every scene that Bosch pops up in just reminds me how good a show that was. Bosch and Bosch Legacy both had great casts, something Ballard doesn't have.

RichardCBased on the 4.5/5 star reviews in this thread, we started watching it. Its entertaining with the caveat that I am feeling male, heterosexual (and white) guilt.
I am so sorry for the oppression the minorities must be feeling when they wake up every morning.
heh. Heh, heh. harharharhar *cough* sorry.
It does have pretty good visual and auditory entertainment.
And the dogs are cool.

onegeekHaven’t read any of the MC books, but very much enjoyed the Bosch and Lincoln’s lawyer shows.
Maggie is striking physically, but the character and show has not much making me want to be involved. Her life is a wreck, her career is a wreck, her coworkers are wrecks, the department is a wreck. The decent supporting characters are Bosch characters.
After binging it when it was released, I can now not remember much about it. Not a great start. The cliffhanger was pants on head retarded.
