R.I.P. old chap. I enjoyed your movie soundtracks and other work.

My favorite stuff from him is definitely the futuristic, dystopian electronic sound of Blade Runner:

Crap. He was a big part of the soundtrack of my childhood. I've been listening to some lately. Makes me think of my father who died six months ago. Still going through that. Find rest, Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou.

Bummer, he turned out some great music over the years. Albedo 0.39 and Spiral were old favorite albums of mine.

Damn legend. In music circles, industry, he is extremely well regarded. His name comes up with Giorgio Moroder for what he was doing back then.

Rest in Peace. I have a few albums and a couple rare editions. Opera Savage (The Year if Living Dangerously), The Best of Jon an Vangelis are a couple of vinyls, CDs are buried somewhere. I remember buying The Dragon LP in the college book store. absolutely prolific.

I had forgot that I still have Heaven and Hell (1975) on album. It was the first time Jon Anderson did vocals with him.

May he RIP.

I saw “Blade Runner” in the theatre at a young age, and the soundtrack really stuck with me.

I may be mistaken on this, but I believe I saw a documentary about the making of “Blade Runner” during which it was said that early cuts of the soundtrack were played on-set to maintain the setting / mood for the actors.
