The Great Waldo Pepper, watched at a drive-in, one of my very first dates.

He directed one of my favorite films of all time..A River Runs Through It.
So many films he was in are among my favorites. The Natural. The Horse Whisperer. The Electric Horseman. All the Presidents Men. Indecent Proposal. Downhill Racer.
His contribution to film will be noted for a hundred years or more. Truly a legend. My last vouchers for the theater I made a point to see his last starring film. The Old Man & The Gun. I was proud that the last two times I was in a theater was to see him in this, then a Tarantino Film.

Godspeed Mr Redford.
I was a big fan of Jeremiah Johnson and an even bigger fan of The Sting

Always thought The Natural was one of the best roles he did. Simple story, but he carried it with presence. Hard to believe that whole generation of actors is almost gone now.

Three Days of The Condor was my first introduction to Redford. Excellent movie and the only one of his I care for.

As great a movie as that was, many of us hate it.
It was the beginning of the end of the Montana we grew up in.
Probably inevitable either way, but it's nice to have something concrete to blame.

Three Days of the Condor had prime Faye Dunaway and Max von Sydow quietly dominated every scene he was in. The movie should have ended when Joubert offers to bring Turner to the train station, but they had to make the lame political statement with Higgins and Turner as the conclusion.
Nonetheless, I'll always watch it whenever I stumble across it.

I don't believe I've ever watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid all the way through. I think I'll do that tonight.

One of those "loved the actor, didn't like the guy" things.
I've mentioned it before, if someone asked me who my favorite actor was, I wouldn't think to say Robert Redford. But if you said list your 10 favorite movies, one might certainly assume he was.

I enjoyed The Way We Were. I was drug to similar movies during my College years. My date cried all the way through Love Story. I will say that Ali Magraw was beautiful in those days. Redford was just too good looking unlike Steve McQueen who was the rugged bad ass.

Dodger Stadium played the theme from The Natural on their organ last night at the Dodgers-Phillies game to honor Redford.

The sheer number of great films he had a hand in is amazing. Thank you for your work, most of it was enjoyed.
