bendableis there a name for this movie making oddity?
It happened in almost all of the "3-D" movies made,
but I am seeing it in more than a few non 3-d movies.
It seems like for a long time when people fought, on screen they fought left to right and right to left, unless they were throwing a punch
Then
they fought up stage to down stage or vice versa.
Then when they were throwing stuff, it would go from left to right or right to left .
but there was a time when the wanted the stuff being thrown right at the camera, like they wanted the audience to duck to dodge what ever was being thrown, on the screen .
it just seems odd.

ScurvyI'm guessing that it's due to the fact that movies are in 2d and so it's easier to show motion and depth side to side and front to back. Punches on the other hand or are more visceral from a 1st person point of view which requires the front to back motion.
3d changes that because it adds depth which gives you more freedom.

46and2Around here it's called: one of the things I hate most about 3D films.
