First couple of episodes aren’t bad. Great origin story for James Reese and Ben Edwards in the Terminal List universe.

Looks like they did a really good job of bringing back most of the original actors for their respective roles.

We’ve only seen the first, but I thought it was very good.

I have a question though and I hope this isn't a spoiler. If the LT is South African, how did he get to become a SEAL? Not sure if he became a US Citizen beforehand. Sure does have a thick accent though.

I had an Airman that was Russian. He became a US citizen after he was already enlisted.
Did his citizenship ceremony at Mount Rushmore.

I am sure there are other examples, but the real life one that recently came to my mind after your comment was Drago Dzieran who was a political prisoner in communist Poland, escaped, came to America, became an American Citizen, joined the Navy, and became a SEAL.

I believe in the novel, the Hastings naturalized at some point. Reece and Raife went to college together.

I’m reminded of Col. Rick Rescorla, born in Cornwall in the UK, former British Army paratrooper, who became a bird Colonel in the US Army. He was a platoon leader under LTC Hal Moore at the Battle of Ia Drang. It’s Rescorla’s picture on the cover of Moore and Galloway’s book, We Were Soldiers. He emigrated to the US, and enlisted.

I have never come across the original story but it’s a new show on Prime and I miss SEAL Team 6 so I’m watching it.

This is a prequel so in reality it is the original. Just watch the Terminal List next which is great,BTW.

This isn't bad for the genre I suppose, but I have to be honest and say that I'm about SEALed out. I'm pretty much done. If I hear "brother" or "downrange" or "operator", etc... anymore I want to pull my fargin hair out (what's left of it). And then we've got the stereotypical ripped young guy with every inch of exposed skin covered in tattooes, long hair and a badass beard. Can we be done with them already? Fine, most of them are badasses. We've established that. Does every action movie need to portray them or emulate them?

When I was training recruits for the Navy, I regularly had recruits that were foreign nationals. Some were there to get citizenship, some for the experience.

I thought it was an excellent series, better than The Terminal List. I like that they brought in Raife Hastings, who is in the books I've read, True Believer and Only the Dead.
