What an American treasure he is. It'll be sad when he's gone. I hope his guitar gets a display at the Smithsonian.

First saw him live about 40 years ago and several times since. Always a great show. Yes, he's a classic.
Jerry Jeff Walker is right up there too!

There is no one like Willie. He is a wonderful songwriter and performer.

In addition to his music, I have always admired the man. He has made a lot of money for other artists either deceased or past their prime by recording their songs or doing duet albums with them. He is an American treasure .

While I absolutely agree, let's not overlook Emmylou here. And if I remember correctly, this video is part of a Wim Wenders doc. Tremendous all around.

Pulled out one of my early Willie albums yesterday. It was strange to see him in jacket and tie with a crew cut.

Yessir. Emmylou is a treasure in her own right. Props to Willie's sister Bobbie on piano. And our boy, Mickey Raphael...maybe my favorite harp player.

I don't use the term icon very often.....Willie is truely an icon.
He is on my top 10 to share a drink with, with the Duke, Cary Grant.....

Been a fan for 40 years. I've spent the last year or so hitting the used record stores picking up mint albums for $5 or $10. Excellent recordings.

I keep coming back to this thread and replaying that song. Beautifully done.
