Where's Maestro? Our choir is singing a contemporary piece, and I get goosebumps whenever I sing or listen to it.
The piece is Christopher Tin's "Sogno di Volare". Many of you may know it from the video game Civilization VI.
First of all, I had no idea whatsoever that video games commissioned world-class contemporary composers for their games.
Second, this piece gives me the chills every single time I listen to it, even for section practice.
It's grand in the scale of Beethoven; its text is moving: taken from Leonardo da Vinci, it is a hymn to man's quest for flight.

Once you have taken flight,
You'll decide
Gaze towards the sky, you'll know that
That is where your heart will feel at home.

Love this - had to watch on the big screen, then watched a performance recorded in Wales.

Thank you for sharing this!

Thanks for posting
Was going to be mad there was no 747, but it was there in a split second shot toward the end.

Saturn V, Concorde and the SR71 for me.

No shuttle, either.

Beautiful. It’s sometimes hard to believe we went from fabric covered biplanes to walking on the moon in roughly 50 years. Mind boggling

Maestro
I LOVE this piece.

There’s some great music in video games.

God of War also has some cool choral/orchestral stuff.
