benny6Has anyone seen "The Phoenician Scheme" by Wes Anderson? Is it any good?
I get a kick out of his style.
Movies I like:
-The French Dispatch (my favorite)
-The Grand Budapest Hotel
-Moonrise Kingdom
Movies that are okay to me:
-Life Aquatic was okay as was
-The Royal Tannenbaums.
The one meh movie:
-Rushmore I watched it once and probably won't ever again.
The one I didn't like:
-Asteroid City. I tried to watch it but they lost me at the gay dude kiss and I turned it off after that.
How is this movie?

PrefontaineI’ve had the 4k blu ray from my rental company sitting here for a month. I’ll try to watch it this weekend and chime back in.

PrefontaineI thought it was good. Great dialogue/writing. Sets were perfect. Acting was solid. Have to be a Wes fan to like it.

LastCubScoutI enjoyed
The Phoenician Scheme, but I don't think it's Wes's best. My favorite is
Rushmore, with
Moonrise and
Grand Budapest close behind. I wasn't the biggest fan of his previous entires—
French Dispatch and
Asteroid City. They seemed very scattered and cold, with too much attention to the style instead of the plot. It was Benicio del Toro's relationship with Mia Threapleton that gave
Phoenician some heart that I felt the last two lacked.

AnubismpIts very much in his style. As per usual I recommend repeat viewings which I dont have yet. I immediately liked Grand Budapest and French Dispatch. Life Aquatic grew on me and I enjoy Fantastic Mr. Fox ( can we really say that was his?) Isle of dogs is fine but I havent gone back. I'm not nuts about his other stuff but Darjeeling was interesting enough to hold my interest.
