Not a fan of Young Sheldon, but Sturgis adds a lot to the show, great for him.
He does a great job, I pretty much like a lot of his work in both tv and movies.
hope he stays on the show for awhileThis message has been edited. Last edited by: bendable,

Sturgis is apparently the name of the character. The actor is Wallace Shawn.

You didn't recognize him as Vizzini first?!
I hate offended people. They come in two flavours - huffy and whiny - and it's hard to know which is worst. The huffy ones are self-important, narcissistic authoritarians in love with the sound of their own booming disapproval, while the whiny, sparrowlike ones are so annoying and sickly and ill-equipped for life on Earth you just want to smack them round the head until they stop crying and grow up. - Charlie Brooker

I appreciate tying up different characters for me. I'm just always stumped with "that actor looks so familiar. Where have I seen him/her before?"
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Has anyone watched My Dinner With Andre lately? I wonder if it is badly dated , or still (somewhat)interesting?

Still interesting.
Shawn is an interesting guy. He is also a playwriter.

I only watched The Princess Bride once, and found it most forgettable. Granted I am occasionally reminded he was in it because of internet memes such as yours

I've thought about watching My Dinner with Andre again. It cracked me up when it was originally released. I'll have to look and see whether it is on Netflix. Shawn's "whaaaat the fuuuuck?" expressions, so subtly done because he was trying not to let it show, were hilarious.

No but I recently had lunch, where it was filmed, The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. As usual, it is beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Watched it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. (It's not on Netflix, but is on Amazon, as is so often the case.). Still funny, still interesting. This time through I was struck by the ending, the final ten minutes or so of their conversation, when the two of them find themselves-- to their mutual surprise-- on the same page, finally actually talking with each other. And that part of the conversation is as relevant and important now as then, maybe even more so.
