I wonder if he regrets playing a private eye in this flick? Big Grin Big Grin

Stumbled upon it on Tubi streaming channel. Elektra Luxx (2010).

Actually elicited a few chuckles. Smile

I think every actor/actress, at some point in their career, has done at least one film they regret just for the paycheck. Big Grin

Unless they've hit it really big, it's sometimes necessary in order eat and pay the bills. (And even after they hit it big, it's not uncommon to subsequently blow their fortune and have to go back to doing films they regret, just for the paycheck.)

I’ll probably get torched for this but I didn’t think he was all that great in Deadwood. It all seemed so forced, like he was trying too hard.

I'll agree with you on that. It took Timothy Olyphant a while to get over being too "wooden".

It's more apparently in the early episodes. It got better as the show progressed. And he had certainly worked it out by the time he got to Justified.

Even still, I wouldn't call Olyphant a "great actor". He's... certainly adequate, and occasionally good. Justified is that good mostly because of the excellent writing and dialogue, not necessarily because of any overly amazing acting on Olyphant's part, although it's certainly the best of Olyphant's roles that I've seen.

Olyphant is a pretty good actor. But a lot of Justified comes from Elmore Leonard. He created a lot of great stuff.

He always looked like he was on his way to poop, and then someone stopped him, but he was too embarrassed to say so.

He was also the porn director guy in Girl Next Door...

I'm sure most actors aren't proud of a lot of things they do especially in the beginning.

A classic example is Paul Newman and The Silver Chalice. (For an example of how bad it was, it featured Virginia Mayo with Vulcan eyebrows and Jack Palance in a cape and red tights with black sperm on them.) He took out advertisements publicly disavowing it. Big Grin

If I can afford to employ 9 people , to care for my money, properties and interests from day to day ,

I can't imagine spending inordinate amounts of my day regretting a role or three Smile

Theres always the famous Michael Caine quote about the terrible Jaws movie he made...

"I haven't seen it but by all accounts it's terrible. However I have seen the house that it built and it's terrific."

I enjoyed him in GO!

That was a fun movie.

He got my respect after I saw him in Santa Clarita Diet- he was hilarious, and the gear shift he made in that role showed how versatile he is (my opinion).
