shovelheadSaw that last night while watching TV. Another “event” I’m sure to miss.
Hate crowds anymore.

The Stones' music, especially the early material, is timeless. Just like Elvis, the Beatles, Miles Davis, Sinatra and many other classic artists. Sure beats the hell out of Taylor Swift. I am part of the fanbase.

I grew up on their classics, and still like them, but am not at all interested in seeing an 80-year on the stage trying to act like they're 20. Ditto for Dolly Parton.

Years ago, I was offered a free ticket to see the Stones in a baseball park on their Bigger Bang tour and turned it down; I didn't want to see a 60 year old on stage trying to act like a 20 year old.
I read a recent interview with Jagger and it was interesting, he was talking about a world without a Mick Jagger, obliquely talking about death. He knows he doesn't have much time left, my guess the reason he hurriedly recorded and rushed out an album of original material and quickly booked a tour.

Rolan_KrapsBut did they change any of their songs to meet their new demographic?
Like "Hey, You, Get off of my Lawn", or "I've got a bald spot and I want to paint it black".
Bonus points for recording "The Beatles", "I get by with a little help from Depends!"

Bob RIThey can still play and have so much material but I have no desire to go to a stadium show. One of my old friends was lucky enough to attend the surprise show in October in NYC at the Racket Club, now THAT would be cool to see them in a club.

6gunsThere were times when I thought, time to get off the stage...you just don't sound like you used to...or this is a young man's game. But you know, they are doing what they've done forever. It's in their blood. It gives them joy....and money. Who am I to judge. Play on!
