Finished and dang it's still a great novel.

Now on to reading Ayn Rand's We the Living .

I may have to go revisit the Gulag Archipelago when I finish.

Just finished all of The Expanse novels, goddamn was that some good stuff. I wish I could read it for the first time again.

Now to figure out what next.

Loved it as well. Did you do the 10th book with the novellas/short stories as well?

Really hope Amazon finishes off the series. I could see it done with 2 seasons.

No, just the 9 books. Is it called Memory's Legion?

That's the one.
Little fill-in stories, like Butcher of Anderson Station, The Churn & Strange Dogs.
Some were in the series.

Reckon I'll grab that then. Gives me 400 some odd pages to figure out what else to read next.

Tai-Pan I enjoyed very much. King Rat and Noble House were okay.

Glad to see all the love for The Expanse in the posts above. The work is deserving of it IMO.

Having finished Dark Mission the Secret History of NASA by Hoagland and Bara, I'm now halfway through Magicians of the Gods by Graham Hancock.

Getting my conspiracy theorist on for a while.

Tom Clavin is a favorite author, writes about the Old west and some WWII stories. His latest is "Running Deep - Bravery, Survival and the True Story of the Deadliest Submarine in WWII". I enjoyed the book, the story is epic but there was a lot about the history of submarines and the men involved.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig. I thought I’d check it off the list. I’ve never delved into philosophy outside of stuff in school. I find it interesting and enjoy his writing style. Needs more motorcycle discussion though…

I finished the Sigma Force series (Rollins); the earlier ones were better as the latter ones became rather unrealistic and tedious. But I finished them all (just because). Before this, I finished the John Rain (Eisler) series (and Livia Lone series).

Reading suggested chess books now, as well as books on learning to play Go.

For fun reading, I'm thinking about starting the Gabriel Allon series (Silva) from scratch again.

We Shall Conquer or Die: Partisan Warfare in 1862 Western Kentucky
Derrick Lindow

I have always read about John Hunt Morgan but this is a new unit that I have never heard of.

in 1862 Western Kentucky. Confederate Col. Adam Rankin Johnson and his 10th Kentucky Partisan Rangers wreaked havoc on Union supply lines and garrisons from the shores of southern Indiana, in the communities of western Kentucky, and even south into Tennessee.

SOG Codename Dynamite: A MACV-SOG 1-0's Personal Journal, Henry L. Thompson

I read most of book one a few nights ago. I'll read book two this weekend. Pretty intense. Includes short but informative AAR at the end of each mission.

I just finished Jack Carr's latest in his James Reese series. "Cry Havoc" goes back to his father, Tom, serving in Vietnam, a SEAL with MACV- SOG. A good read, lots of details which Carr does in all his books. A long list of books on that subject, including "Codename Dynamite" mentioned above.
