PHPaulThe Diplomat, Season 4
Well, they did it again. Great season IMHO and a spectacular cliff-hanger of a finale.
Doesn't hurt having Keri Russell as the star. Loved her in The Americans.

Batty67My wife and I really like this show. I felt Season 4 was better than 3. Superbly acted and produced.

mttaylor1066My wife and I like the show as well, but the “girl bossing” in this latest season grates on my nerves.
Allow me to rant on the woke writing in this show.
The women in powerful positions are effortlessly on top of things. They think strategically, have command of minute details, anticipate every move and Mary Sue the crap out of everything that all the men around them are screwing up.
The female Vice President was on the verge of being ousted when the male President, who couldn’t be trusted NOT to kill himself with a cup of coffee, dies… and from that moment the newly installed female President becomes a supremely gifted manager, decisive to the extreme who solves conflicts with incisive flair, effortlessly wielding supreme power as if genetically engineered to lead the world to justice and peace.
Do not trifle the new female President with the details of any issue, she KNOWS the details better than her subordinates and she knows the details BEFORE her subordinates do. Behold the unfettered female, born to lead… if only Kamala Harris wasn’t being held back by that old, doddering male, Joseph Robinette Biden… what could have been!
The female Chief of Staff is so capable that she can solve any world crisis whilst simultaneously texting someone important and taking phone calls from other important world persons. Females are born to juggle chainsaws while beating you at chess.
The newly installed President’s husband, the First Gentleman, is a mopey, helpless third wheel who becomes an albatross around his wife’s neck… and the female President cunningly plants a seed with his protective detail to shuffle him off to a foreign country… he never realized he was being manipulated like an errant toddler. Ohh, men, so easily duped by women… who are SOOO much more clever than the male of the species.
The male Prime Minister is a venal, reckless warmonger who can’t control his emotions. That PM picks a back bencher woman as a new cabinet member… until the male PM resigns and that female back bencher allies with the new FEMALE prime minister who not only outmaneuvers the United States blundering but does it while looking great in evening wear… and also running a home with school age children…a home she really doesn’t like but she tolerates it because her husband would be sad to leave it. She can outflank the world’s greatest country while making sure her children’s toys are properly stowed and her personal sacrifices allow her husband to be content with a white elephant house…is there nothing a woman can’t do, given the chance?
The female CIA statin chief tells her paramour how to do his job. The male Sec. of State is hopelessly hidebound and can’t see how the new female President is going to forge a bright new path to the sunlit uplands of world politics.
The female US ambassador is always three steps ahead of everyone, including her capable husband (who is now the VP) but he needs to be saved from himself as often as he does the right thing… and his wife is just the woman to do it.
Boy, I feel better now that I’ve got that off my chest! I better ask my wife what I need to do with the rest of my day. After all, I’m only a man.
