Burt Bacharach has passed at 94.
Some pretty classic, memorable tunes from his hands/pen over the years.

My mom loved his music.
We saw him play live in Vegas back in the 80's and it was really good.

He isn't entirely my cup of tea, but he wrote some great songs.

I loved many of Bacharach's songs, of course not as a teenager, but in later years, especially when I started to compose my own little pop ditties. He was one of the Brill Building songwriters I loved (Goffin & King, Laura Nyro, Neil Diamond) his work with Hal David was my favorite period, songs like Alfie, Close To You, and Raindrops Keep Fallin On My Head. But his work with Elvis Costello was interesting, very well done.

Rest in Peace, songwriters of his kind are a disappearing breed.

I saw Dionne Warwick in concert many years ago. It was an interesting time prior to the escalation in Vietnam.

I’m not sure if it’s the melodies or the lyrics that put me off most Burt Bacharach songs… maybe Hal David is the reason I never took to their stuff.

Ninety-four years is a good run. Requiescat in Pace.

I am often not a fan of the lyrics of his songs. And in the older stuff, the lush, string heavy, somewhat syrupy arrangements are a real turn off. But the melodies and song structure are really good.

An amazing talent. Wrote songs of a more civil era and generation.
