Used to play a lot of cribbage and pinochle.
Unfortunately, as we get older, die off, and kids scatter to the winds, we don't gather as much as we used to so don't get the opportunity to play as much.

Balderdash was always one of my favorite games. Unfortunately, one person that just doesn't get it ruins the whole experience.

We really enjoy Sequence, but haven't played in years.
Every time our whole family gets together, we play Play Nine or Uno Attack and have a blast.

My kid is older now, but we actually enjoy Monopoly (we play it by the rules, and it actually plays out with a good pace).
Sorry and Trouble are good games to have a discussion over (less strategy, so easier to have a conversation).
I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

In the service I learned to play a card game called Spoons. When you and the other players are drunk, the game can devolve into violence. Great fun, Spoons.

A good one among my younger family and friends is Sushi Go!(2013) But the number of good to great games that come out each year, they are hard to keep up w/. I started out w/ https://www.dicetower.com/ as a way to get my nephews off the computers and be more social. The forum there brings you to their guild at https://boardgamegeek.com/ which is another rabbit hole. Here are the Dice Tower girls reviewing their top 10, JUST, for 2020. https://youtu.be/yEq34awFucU?t=4
While using Board Game Geek to grab some popular games for the kids for Christmas and Birthdays, I've found some more complex, engaging games I play w/ my adult friends and family. We aren't overly competitive but it's a good way to immerse for an hour or two into something enjoyable once a week w/ a couple beverages and snacks.
