Money Ball
Watched this movie for the second time tonight. It’s just a great story and movie. I like Brad Pitt, and he and Jonah Hill owned their respective roles. I was still following MLB back then, but was a big Arizona Diamondbacks fan, and they had just won the World Series in 2001, what was happening with the A’s in Oakland escaped my attention.

It’s on Netflix. Recommended

I really enjoyed it. Not a "OMG this is amazing" kind of movie, but there's something I really like. One of those movies I watched the first time one night, and rewatched it the next day.

I've watched it a couple times, but I've listened to it a few times as well. Had it on the DVD player on long trips, not watching, just listening. Works well for that.

I'm not a fan of baseball but enjoy a lot of baseball-themed movies. Moneyball is one of my favorites.

Solid and entertaining movie. I was much more into baseball when it came out.

Yeah...pretty much done with MLB, but I love this movie. And you gotta admit...this movie is a true testament of the ROMANCE of baseball. Some soy-boy at Threebucks will NEVER appreciate that. Only sports fans can relate to and appreciate this movie for what it is...

Funny thing is, the A’s are looking to sell off several of their high salary players right now. Moneyball

So if you're not a sports fan you should pass?

My wife tagged it. I read the synopsis. "Ugh. I don't think so, honey. Baseball. Could hardly care less." So we dropped it from the list.

We're not just apathetic toward most sports, but downright antipathetic toward them. Exceptions are golf (me); some Winter Olympics sports; and an intermittent, vague interest in World Cup soccer.

Well... not a soy-boy, but, other than listening to Tigers games as a kid and following the Red Wings for a few years, have really never had any interest in sports teams, the sports they play, or anything about them, so...?

Typically, I've been more interested in playing sports than watching others play them Wink

Ensigmatic, Moneyball is a good movie. You don't have to be a baseball fan to enjoy it, but if you know something about professional baseball (especially at that time) you'll enjoy it more.

Go ahead and give it a try. If you don't like it I'll take the blame.

It's about the business of baseball. And if your wife showed interest, you should watch it.

Don't give a shit about Baseball.

Enjoyed the film just the same.

Never had soy milk. Don't like tofu. Not even sure what a "soy boy" is.

I gave up on baseball when Nolan Ryan retired.

But I gave this movie a shot.

Since I have watched it more than four times.
It's not about playing baseball, it's about trying to survive as a team with 1/20th the budget of big teams.

The dynamics are good.
And this was the first movie that got me to pay attention to Pitt as an actor.

Its an entertaining movie that's based on the best selling book of the same name, from an asshole author. There's a number of recognizable actors which helps the casual viewer engage, Aaron Sorkin is one of the principal writers, despite his politics, I generally enjoy movies he's involved in.

Unlike most baseball movies which portray the locker-room banter and shenanigans, this one is viewed from the offices of the General Manager, who's adopted a new method of player evaluation and deals with opposition from the traditionalists. If you can appreciate statistics, economics or, any manor of analytical method, the story shows it's applied to non-traditional field. We're not talking A Beautiful Mind, Interstellar or, Good Will Hunting but an entertaining sports movie told from view point of those working behind the scenes and putting the right players in positions to succeed.

Minus the rhetoric to the right of the picture, a good example right here...
