Old country store, old men porch sitting and whittling every Saturday morning and discussing the news of the week. One of them, Joe, only ever had one comment no matter what the news,
“Could’ve been worse”

Then one day, one of the group regulars was caught cheating by his wife and she shot and killed him!!

Oh, we got old Joe now, no way he can say “could’ve been worse” to this news…

But yeah, sure enough true to form Joe replies to the news… “Could’ve been worse”.

So they asked Joe…
How in the world could it be worse? She killed him! He’s dead!

Joe replies… Could’ve been me!
